Originally from Australia, Matt Pride has lived in Japan for over 25 years and provides experienced interpreting across local authorities, law enforcement, embassies, businesses, and diplomatic settings.

 

Based full-time in Amami Ōshima, he supports both Japanese and international clients with administrative procedures, medical visits, legal matters, and cross-cultural or business communication.

He has interpreted for government agencies, NGOs, diplomats, and well-known brands such as NHK, The North Face, and the History Channel, and works closely with the local community to ensure clear, respectful, and effective communication.

Half Day (up to 4 hours): ¥33,000

Full Day (up to 8 hours): ¥55,000

Hourly Rate (minimum 2 hours): ¥9,000/hr

After Hours (before 8am or after 8pm): ¥12,000/hr
