OUR MISSION

Our mission is to share Amami’s wild nature and living culture through private, authentic journeys that create lasting connections. Every trek, paddle, and village visit reveals the island’s true spirit—respectfully, memorably, and meaningfully.

ABOUT US

Amami Adventures offers private eco-tours across Amami Island, led by Australian-born local guide Matt Pride. From lush jungles and hidden rivers to coastal villages and living cultural traditions, every journey uncovers the island’s raw beauty and authentic spirit.

With deep ties to the local community and a strong commitment to eco-tourism, each experience is carefully crafted to foster meaningful connections—between people, nature, and culture—away from the crowds.

OUR STORY

Handcrafted in Uken Village by a local calligrapher, our logo combines Japanese artistry with the spirit of Amami. The brushstroke ‘A’ reflects mountains, rivers, and the flow of life into the sea, symbolizing adventure, connection, and discovery—the very values that guide every Amami Adventures journey.

COLLABORATIONS

Amami Adventures has collaborated with brands such as The North Face, Goldwin, and National Parks of Japan, and worked on projects with National Geographic, Jeep, History Channel, and NHK World.

We also runs a kids’ adventure program in partnership with the International Youth Exchange Organization of Japan, giving children hands-on experiences in nature and island life.
