North Amami Cultural Coast Tour

Experience the cultural and coastal side of northern Amami Ōshima, where traditional craftsmanship meets clear turquoise waters.

Morning – Mud Dyeing
Step into the world of Oshima Tsumugi silk, a 1,300-year-old tradition known for its refined kimono craftsmanship. Guided by local artisans, try the iron-rich mud dyeing process and create your own unique piece.

Lunch
Flexible options from a casual stop at Vanilla Farm Café to traditional keihan (Amami chicken rice) or local dishes such as sashimi, Wagyu, island tiger prawns, and purple rice.

Afternoon – Coastal Snorkeling
Stop at a couple of coastal viewpoints before heading to the beach. Snorkel in clear waters with abundant marine life and a good chance of spotting sea turtles. Coastal paths offer opportunities to see hermit crabs, kingfishers, and other native wildlife.
