Mt. Yuwan Summit & World Heritage Trek

Journey to Mt. Yuwan, Amami’s highest peak and a World Natural Heritage site. Begin at the stunning Koura Waterfall, fed by the mountain’s pure waters, then trek through dense rainforest teeming with vibrant, endemic flora and fauna.

Ascend into the misty cloud forest, home to rare species found nowhere else. At the summit, enjoy panoramic views and visit Amami’s oldest shrine, gaining unique insights into the island’s history.

After descending, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch at a 106-year-old, three-generation family-run restaurant featuring locally grown ingredients and herbal tea.

The adventure concludes with a visit to an ancient forest site once used by early villagers for food storage and hunting, offering a close-up look at Amami’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
