Glowing Eyes Night Tour
Venture deep into Amami’s jungle to a secluded river where darkness reveals a hidden world of glowing eyes. In the pitch-black night, tanga shrimp shine orange among the rocks, while Amami fishing spiders reveal bright light-green eyes along the riverbanks. In summer, fireflies add their yellow glow to the forest. Endemic frogs, snakes, amphibians and other nocturnal wildlife appear along the river, from mountain and river crabs to the occasional eel or whip scorpion.
Surrounded by the sounds of the jungle and river, with stars shining through the canopy on clear nights, this immersive adventure reveals a mysterious side of Amami after dark.
