— Day 1 —
Arrival & Village Welcome

  • Meet your guide and enjoy lunch overlooking the turquoise coast, while discussing the journey ahead.

  • Drive through mountains to Uken Village and check in at your handcrafted log cottages

  • Wander the local market and harbor, meeting village residents

  • Savor Island-raised pork Shabu-Shabu 

  • Experience nocturnal life with traditional Tanga Shrimping or a Wildlife Night Tour, spotting Amami rabbits, giant frogs, and other rare endemic species

— Day 2 —
Rainforest & Village Culture

  • Hike or eBike jungle trails to hidden waterfalls, caves, and endemic wildlife

  • Dine at a century-old kominka café with fresh, home-grown ingredients

  • Discover historic canals, visit fruit farms or sugarcane fields, and connect with village life

  • Tour and taste spirits at the local distillery using Mt. Yuwan spring water, aged acoustically for a unique flavor

  • Immerse in local culture with dinner accompanied by live Shima-Uta music, blending Amami’s flavors, stories, and melodies

— Day 3 —
Morning Adventure Options

Option A: Mt. Yuwan Summit

  • Hike through lush forest to Amami’s highest peak, enjoying rare wildlife and island views

Option B: Mangrove Kayaking

  • Glide through calm mangrove channels, spotting mudskippers, crabs, and birds

​​

Option C: Coastal Culture & Mt. Mineta (Nov–May only)

  • Visit Uken’s sustainable tiger shrimp farm, taste on Funakoshi Beach, then stroll to Mt. Mineta for stunning panoramic views of Uken Village

 

Lunch & Departure: 

  • Enjoy a final island meal before a private transfer to Amami Airport

Recommended Gear

  • Comfortable walking shoes (trekking shoes ideal but sneakers are fine), outdoor clothing, hat, and sunscreen (Rainwear provided if needed)
